Artist: Maekawa Yuka
Size: 350 x 260 mm
Materials/Technique: Iwa-enogu (mineral pigments)

Artist Profile:
Born in 1998, lives in Ishikawa Prefecture.
Graduated from Musashino Art University Correspondence Course, Japanese Painting Expression Course.

Mainly creates paintings with a unique texture using Japanese painting materials and colored pencils on washi paper.

Her expressive technique is influenced by German Expressionism. Resonating with their direct approach to depicting the intensity and ambiguity of emotions, she also seeks to express her inner turmoil and the depths of her heart honestly, sometimes in a distorted form.

She attempts to externalize, visualize, and reinterpret emotions that cannot be fully expressed in words. For viewers, she hopes her works are not "a single story" but "a place where many emotions drift." She aims to provide a viewing experience where each fragment scattered within the picture resonates somewhere with the viewer's own memories and emotions, emerging as their personal story.
