Artist profile:
At graduate school in Taiwan, I created artworks with modern architecture from the Japanese colonial period (1895-1945) as my theme. I depicted the traces of life and historical remnants etched in architecture as "memory" and "time," expressing spaces where dreams and reality intertwine, the cultural ties connecting Japan and Taiwan, and the transformation of time within architecture.
Since coming to Japan, I have been documenting modern architecture in Taiwan and Japan through sketching and photography, observing circulation, light, texture, color, and their relationship with the environment. For demolished buildings, I decipher the memories of that era using old photographs and literature as clues. Through research into techniques and materials, I am exploring methods of expression that visualize "layers of time."
