Standing amidst vast nature, humanity often feels like a tiny presence. I depict the grand presence of nature—forests, the moon, water, waterfalls—and the faint traces of human existence within it. By placing small elements such as paths, buildings, and torii gates within the frame, I aim to express the majesty of nature and the fragility of humanity enveloped by it. For me, nature is both a source of awe and a place that embraces memories and prayers. Through quiet light and negative space, I create landscapes that prompt viewers to re-examine their small selves within a vast world.

About the Artwork:
This piece depicts a night path under sparkling starlight. The soft blue and purple hues convey the quiet night air and a fantastical atmosphere. The path leading into the distance suggests a journey towards the future. Through a landscape bathed in starlight, this work expresses tranquility and hope.

Using Nihonga materials, I depict landscapes that exist between reality and dreams. Taking inspiration from the light and natural presences encountered in daily life, I express not actual places themselves, but rather the scenery that emerges from memories and sensations.

For me, nature is both an awe-inspiring presence and a place that embraces memories and prayers. By layering the fluidity of light, the changing colors, and the transience of nature, I aim for a quiet and dreamlike composition. Through quiet light and negative space, I create landscapes that prompt viewers to re-examine their small selves within a vast world.
